I'm Heli – the founder, designer, maker, packer, customer service person, and constant printer-fixer behind Hidastaja Art.

Hidastaja Art was born in the summer of 2019 as a small side project, but it quickly grew into a full-blown business. In February 2020, I made a big decision: I left my hectic day job and jumped headfirst into entrepreneurship. Just two weeks later, the world turned upside down – but my very first jewelry design, Fuck This Shit, hit the moment perfectly. It reminded me that I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

At the heart of this business is the courage to do things differently. The selection includes jewelry, paper goods, clothing, and home decor – pieces born from everyday life, thoughts, and feelings. I design everything myself, and some of the products are also made here in Kartanonkoski, Vantaa.

Inspiration comes from daily life, the world around me, people – and the idea that not everything needs to be taken so seriously. I hope my products carry a sense of joy, strength, hope, and just the right amount of sarcasm. And maybe, sometimes, a gentle middle finger to the things that deserve it.

When I'm not working, you’ll most likely find me:

• with a coffee cup (usually on the third refill)
• walking in the forest
• immersed in music, books, or a really good series
• and quite often by the edge of an ice hockey rink
